Schwinn is synonymous with bicycles, so it should come as no surprise that this famous bicycle producing company also produces premium exercise bicycles. Their products include recumbent and upright bikes as well as the Schwinn Airdyne line of bikes, which actually fans you as you pedal.

The line also includes cardio exercise machines such as ellipticals and treadmills. Schwinn exercise bikes have been manufactured since the early 1900s, but its first exercise bike was produced in 1965 with the Deluxe Exerciser. Schwinn’s first Airdyne bike featured arm-pumping levers and pedals that fanned you as you used it. The Airdyne bike was one of the first full body exercise devices when it hit the market in 1978.

Today, Schwinn has been purchased by Nautilus Exercise Equipment, Inc., the company that also owns popular fitness equipment brands like Bowflex and Universal. As a Nautilus subsidiary, Schwinn Fitness has maintained its reputation for producing high-quality products from bicycles to exercise equipment.

Schwinn stated that their goal is to make riding an exercise bike feel as much like outdoor biking as possible. With that in mind, Schwinn exercise bikes are designed to feel, sound, and act much like a traditional bicycle. With gathered input from thousands of bicyclists, bicycling instructors, and fitness experts, Schwinn created a series of machines that use patented resistance systems, advanced electronic tracking systems, and unique 'rider fit' systems to make indoor biking as authentic as possible.
